About the course

As superannuation law specialists and investment advisers the team at SMSF Investor has put together an educational guide to superannuation and investing in the stock market for self funded retirees who have a SMSF, or who are considering setting up a SMSF, and want to take back control of their superannuation retirement savings.

Our SMSF Investor course provides members with important information on a range of superannuation and investment topics that are relevant to their specific needs and circumstances as self funded retirees. The course information is simple and easy to understand, as well as being cost effective to implement at the same time.

In the superannuation section of the course, we provide our members with information that they need to know so as not to breach superannuation legislation or superannuation investment laws. We cover superannuation topics particularly relevant to SMSF trustees; such as SMSF trustee obligations and administrative duties, the taxation of superannuation funds and member benefits, and SMSF investment restrictions. With over 3,000 SMSF’s being created each month, it makes sense for SMSF trustees to have this background knowledge, even if they engage someone else to administer their SMSF.

In the investment section of the course we take our members through all aspects of investing in the stock market that relate specifically to the unique characteristics of a SMSF; from asset allocation and portfolio management to risk profiles and the range of securities suitable for inclusion in a SMSF portfolio.

We also cover some basic trading and forecasting techniques which focus on how and when to place trades directly into the stock market. By engaging some very simple technical analysis trading techniques that focus on time and price analysis, members can enter the market with confidence and exit when market conditions change, goals are reached or time frames end. The techniques are highly suited to investors who have a long term view of the market and want to follow a simple investment strategy. All the tools necessary to implement this type of investment strategy are contained in the course, designed specifically for self funded retirees with a SMSF.

Once you have mastered the main topics of the course, monitoring your SMSF portfolio takes less than ½ an hour a day and allows you time for other pursuits. We guarantee that you won’t be bogged down for months trying to understand what is going on, but if you do get stuck, the team of professionals at SMSF Investor will be more than happy to assist you with any questions you may have.

Remember, if you have the right guidance and information and the right trading and investment techniques at your disposal, you can use these tools to improve your knowledge of investing and take control of your financial future. You owe it to yourself to have this knowledge even if you want the investment decision making process to remain with your investment adviser. At least you will be able to make an informed decision to either accept or reject their advice instead of blindly following it.

Note: Our SMSF Investor course is not a trading course, it doesn’t cost thousands of dollars to purchase and is not designed for people who are looking for personal investment advice. However, investors who do want personal advice would do well to become a member of our website and consume the contents of our course before seeking that advice.
